Chemical and enzymatic pretreatment of cellulosic fibers for nanocellulose production by hydrodynamic cavitation

M2 Internship - The CAVITOSE project is developing hydrodynamic cavitation-on-a-chip as an energy-efficient alternative for the production of cellulose nanofibrils. Since native fibers tend to fragment rather than fibrillate under cavitation, this internship focuses on conditioning cellulose fibers through chemical and enzymatic pretreatment to make them suitable for this process. The work combines fiber chemistry, characterization, and testing on the cavitation bench.
