Pure cellulose dissolution and regeneration through a novel process involving cellulose oxidation

M2 Internship - Rising demand for textile fibers and growing environmental concerns are creating a need for renewable, low-impact alternatives. One promising solution involves regenerating cellulose fibers from paper pulp. In 2020, LGP2 patented a new process for dissolving and regenerating cellulose using exclusively aqueous solvents. This new process has been tested primarily on soluble pulp that is pure cellulose. The objective of this internship is to study the dissolution and regeneration processes in order to improve filament formation and to restart a pilot spinning facility to enable the continuous regeneration of filaments.
